Visitor Attractions

Brora Heritage Centre

A Family attraction if ever there was one, Brora Heritage Centre is one minutes drive from the centre of the village. Ample parking space and parkland aplenty for picnics and energetic youngsters to make the most of our excellent East Coast weather. A vending machine in the building offers a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Inside the centre, (which has full disabled access and facilities), our local staff can guide you round the exhibits and hands-on children’s learning panels which illustrate the remarkable story of this lively village.

For adults and children alike, there is
a wide selection of exhibits on the local Whisky, Coal and Woollen industry as well as a fabulous new display by our local Clyne Heritage Society.

Illustrated with hand painted maps and local artefacts, the exhibition tells the story of the area from stone age times right up to the present day. Anyone interested in genealogy and archaeology shouldn't miss this chance to get an insight into the vast history of one small part of the Highlands.

Falls of Shin

Falls of Shin Visitor Centre is the best place in Scotland to see wild Atlantic Salmon in their natural habitat.

Watch salmon battle their way up the waterfall on their annual journey to the spawning grounds in the headwaters of the River Shin and it's tributaries.

The salmon start their run as the waters warm from the end of April through to the end of November and can be easily seen from the well-maintained viewing platform only 100 metres from the car park.
